Alder strengthens team with new consultants Sue Bishop and Jack Myers
Crisis communications specialist Alder is pleased to have welcomed new specialist partner Sue Bishop and new senior account manager Jack Myers on board in recent weeks.
Sue, who will specialise on clients in the education and charity sectors, was most recently director of external relations at the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference, which represents the leaders of UK independent schools. She has also held senior communications roles at charities including Christian Aid, ActionAid UK and Young Epilepsy.
She started her career as a journalist, working for regional and national newspapers, and was later a senior on-screen reporter for the BBC, at programmes including Newsnight, Watchdog and national news bulletins. Sue is also a governor of Tonbridge School and a former charity trustee.
Jack was most recently a senior consultant at communications firm Woburn Partners, and before this worked for Palatine. He also worked for Amicus ALJ, a charity providing representation for those facing the death penalty in the US, has experience in the legal sector and is a trustee at the Crystal Palace Community Trust.
He will work across Alder’s client portfolio, which continues to expand thanks to agreements with a growing number of partnerships with law firms and insurance companies, which refer their clients to the consultancy.
Tim Toulmin, managing director of Alder, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sue and Jack to the team – both bring a range of skills and experience which further strengthen our services. We’ve had a busy 2021, and I put this down to our growing reputation for being professional, reassuring and unflappable, as well as being unapologetically focused on crisis communications. I’m sure that with our two new hires, and the rest of our team, 2022 will be just as successful.”
Based in London, Alder was founded in 2010. Its clientele includes organisations of all sizes in the public, private and non-profit sectors, as well as private individuals.
