Alder offers a variety of media training services, focused on enabling your organisation to communicate with clarity, confidence and compassion when media pressure and stakeholder needs are at their most intense.

Effective crisis management extends beyond the communications department. Your crisis response will draw upon skills across your entire organisation, from social media managers to junior communications team members, making it essential that staff across your team are fully prepared for dealing with the media and understand the reputational risks your organisation must navigate.

Training is an essential part of crisis preparation, embedding core communications principles and stress-testing your team’s ability to respond to multiple competing demands at pace. Alder training will instil confidence in your team and ensure that at the crucial moments for your organisation, when your reputation is exposed to serious risk, that frameworks are in place to avoid a public relations disaster.

It is also important to consider training as part of your crisis recovery strategy. Most organisations will identify weaknesses in their crisis response or team dynamics following an incident; however, that work is only useful if key lessons are acknowledged and actioned.

How do you deliver Alder training?

Online

Our team of experts can deliver a bespoke session with sector-specific vulnerabilities and crisis strategies. Our online training sessions can be delivered remotely via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet. Once we understand what we want to get out of the session we can advise on the time it will take – this can vary from a 1-hour training session to half-day, or full-day courses.

In-person training

All our training days include bespoke content catered to your sector vulnerabilities, risk profile, recent media performance and any specific needs identified by your team. A member of the team will come to deliver the training day at your location, and this can either be a half-day or full-day session. In the case of studio-based training this is delivered in a fully equipped broadcast centre in London and can be arranged for other locations around the UK.
