Training is an essential part of crisis preparation, embedding core communications principles and stress-testing your team’s ability to respond to multiple competing demands at pace.
It is also important to consider training as part of your crisis recovery strategy. Most organisations will identify weaknesses in their crisis response or team dynamics following an incident; however, that work is only useful if key lessons are acknowledged and actioned.
Crisis simulations are a crucial element in a crisis PR plan as they prepare your team for real situations, allowing you to practice responses, identify weaknesses, and improve coordination among teams. Whether you are a school, charity, healthcare organisation or business, our crisis simulations are designed to test your organisation’s existing reputational risk management and crisis response procedures, with bespoke scenarios designed to tease out any vulnerabilities.
This crisis simulation training enhances decision-making under pressure, builds confidence, and ensures consistent messaging during an actual crisis, ultimately building your team’s resilience to crisis scenarios and protecting your organisation’s reputation.
Our crisis simulation method
We will work with you to create crisis simulations tailored to your key areas of reputational risk. Before the crisis simulation our highly experienced team of crisis communications consultants will meet with you to understand your reputational vulnerabilities, your team’s previous experience in handling crises, and specific priorities and goals.
Our crisis simulation sessions are delivered in person at your site by our expert trainers. During this interactive session, our specialists will run through 2 – 3 tabletop exercises, testing your crisis response procedures. Through this hands-on experience, you will develop a deep understanding of your team’s strengths and areas for improvement, as well as the core crisis mechanics of communication channels and clear roles and responsibilities.
Our experts will guide you through each stage, offering valuable insights and constructive feedback to enhance your crisis PR response capabilities, and the training will conclude with a written assessment on improving your existing protocols.
